Waiting for Jeremiah to arrive for his date with Santa, a t.v. news photographer and I were complaining about our aches and pains. And I confess, the gripe session was started by me. Recent foot and knee pain from running prompted my complaining. Jeremiah arrived; no arms, no legs and pure happiness. Boy do I feel like a wimp.

Wedding parties always follow the bride’s lead. Happy bride=happy wedding. When Beth and Hunt got married, it rained all day. Like always, the wedding followed the bride’s lead. To look at Beth’s attitude, you would have thought the rain was nothing more than liquid sunshine. The wedding was beautiful, the people happy and the day was memorable.

I covered the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing yesterday. I cannot believe that it has been 15 years since a young intern(me) from the Daily Oklahoman hurried to the city from tennis class at UCO. The thing that sticks in my head to this day is  heading south on I-235 going about 90mph, and thinking, “There is no way this as bad as it looked on tv.” As I got closer and closer there were cars lining the shoulder with the drivers slumped over the steering wheels crying.Fifteen Years:Respect and Resolve from Mike Simons-Photojournalist on Vimeo.
